Rivers and reservoirs

Rivers are important for human life. Rivers provide drinking and irrigation water, can be used for transportion of people and pollution, and flows into lakes and reservoirs, which may support fishery and provide hydroelectric power. Rivers may need to be managed properly in order to avoid flooding causing damage to infrastructure and sometimes loss of human life.

Modelling rivers, canals and reservoirs is often multi-disciplinary because of the multitude facets of problems involved.

MIKE 11 offers all the necessary features for river and reservoir analysis including optimal and safe designs, sustainable sedimentation and water quality management, reliable inflow forecasting, optimised and balanced reservoir operation and flood protection strategies.

MIKE FLOOD constitute the important software packages for hydrodynamic investigations of rivers and floodplains.

Morphological problems are best studied using MIKE 21C. It is a unique packages for two-dimensional analysis of meandering channels, complex erosion and deposition analysis and morphological impact of e.g. river training works
